Who Should Apply

Doctors who have not yet completed their specialist training and consultant physicians who can demonstrate a strong interest in hypertension and wish to further develop their expertise in this field.

About the Course

  • The Emerging Hypertension Leaders Summer School is an intensive three-day residential clinical education programme.
  • Sessions are led by international experts in hypertension management and cardiovascular disease prevention.
  • Core topics include global challenges in hypertension management; pathophysiology; treatment strategies; management of hypertension in special situations including among younger people, during pregnancy, resistant hypertension, secondary hypertension and hypertensive crisis; how emerging technologies are changing the delivery of hypertension care.
  • Workshops focus on practical communication skills with an emphasis on strategies to influence policymakers.
  • The course combines lectures, case presentations, workshops and expert-led discussions and is designed to promote active interaction between delegates and faculty.
  • Delegates will be encouraged to join our International Community of Practice for continued collaboration and knowledge exchange after the course.

Expenses

  • All summer school costs, including course fees, meals, and bed-and-breakfast accommodation are fully covered by the Summer School.
  • Travel costs to and from the venue are the responsibility of the delegate.
  • A limited number of travel grants are available and will be considered on an individual basis where delegates experience financial difficulties.
